My name is Charlie and I’m a practising NHS midwife and antenatal educator.

I’ve worked across all aspects of maternity since qualifying from the University of Southampton. I currently work in Manchester and have had the privilege to help parents welcome their babies into the world, as well as worked in specialist roles in research and stillbirth prevention. For the past three years I’ve also been fortunate enough to teach antenatal classes to hundreds of expectant parents.

I’m passionate about preparing you for birth and early parenthood and truly believe that education empowers.

With the knowledge to ask the right questions, you can approach this step with confidence and excitement, and feel positive about your experience. Birth can be unpredictable, but understanding different scenarios will help you and your birth partner be mentally and emotionally prepared for all eventualities. While there’s a lot of information to share with you, my classes are informal and relaxed with plenty of chances for questions, and lots of group activities to get you mingling with other local parents. I’ll be available to be contacted even after the course has finished so you can continue to get support or advice if there’s anything I can help with.
